スノーマン可愛い！

湖の上のスケートリンクのわきに、誰かが落書きを残した落書き。それをみたHarukaが、こっちのスノーマンは２段じゃなくて３段重なんだねえとコメント。そういえば、そうなの、かな？


今日はちょっとお天気のことを書いておこうと思う。今日は３月４日。気温はマイナス１２〜マイナス８度。先週末に−２０度になってから、再び気温は下がり気味。今朝は晴天、昼間も屋内にたくさんの光が差し込んでくるような空模様だったが、夕方から夜にかけて雪が降り始め、今も粉雪が舞っている。朝の８時には空が十分に明るくなって、夕方の１６〜１７時ぐらいまで明るい。

ところで、先週は０度を上回る日もあり、かなりの頻度でお天道様が顔を出し、Aurinko paistaa(●´w｀○)ﾉと皆が口をそろえて言っていた。この「太陽が空に見える」と言うのは、冬のフィンランドでは本当にありがたいこと。日照時間の短さから、かわりにサプリメントやビタミン剤をとる人もいるぐらいだ。２月の後半、Ayanaさんから教えていただいたことは、「１２月から２月まで、８０日間の日照時間の合計が１８時間だった」ということだ。それを聞いたときには、自分でもとんでもないところに住んでいるんだなあと、本当に驚いた。

文字通り「太陽が空にみえた」のが２月の２０日。"Synkkä ennätys Jyväskylässä: 80 päivää talvea, yhteensä 18 tuntia auringonpaistetta"というこの記事には、ユヴァスキュラで日照時間が極端に少なかったと書かれている。

渡芬前、ウィンターディプレッションについてかなり心配していた。日本でさえ、秋から冬にかけては本当に気がめいってしまうのに、冬場、太陽が空にでている時間が４時間の国でどうやって生きられようかと。しかし、こちらにきて気付いたことは、雪が地面につもると、世界が本当に明るくなると言うことだ。分厚い雲とただでさえ短い日照時間はどうにもならないにしても、この雪の白の明るさは、わたしをかなり勇気づけてくれた。雪国生まれでも、フィンランド生まれでもない私にとって、雪と言うのはかなり"めでたい"もので、降ると嬉しい、つもると嬉しい、さらにそれで遊べるとなるともう言うことなしという感じだった。ウィンターアクティビティーやスポーツについてはまた今度 : )
